Locate - Exchange catch-up 5.2

Due to myself not being available after class on Friday my exchange group have a group chat where we discussed what we are all doing.

Renee's project is "focussing on the well-being of children who have to move house as studies have shown it can have serious effects on their mental health even later in life. So our brief is about a 10 year old boy who's moved house and is having a hard time making friends"

Sammy's project "focuses on the wellbeing in spatial dwellings. I am specifically focusing on the psychological effects of wellbeing in space, involving the connections of nature (surrounding space) and community (people power). Looking into the constructions of space and how they can affect the overall quality of space."

One of Sammy's sketching's:

Annalise's project is "on wellbeing relating to fashion mindsets and philosophy. I am focusing on 'anti-fashion', looking at what makes 'fashion' fashion, and what is the opposite, with the aim to design a collection that expresses the anti-fashion movement and minimalism with a focus on what that expresses philosophically; whether anti-fashion is possible, and looking into how trends express social perspectives and moral codes."

Rosamund's project is "about the wellbeing of people living in cities focusing on their physical health. Our brief is focused on working adults who are unable to commit to a regular workout routine due to exhaustion/stress from work."

Sophie's industrial design work is "about slowing down in regards to food. Looking at the importance of knowing the origins of what we eat and cutting down the middle man. That's my topic and the main brief focussing on anything to do with food design. Other groups are looking at gimmicky food, food aesthetics, food rituals and culture etc."

We tried to arrange a group meeting for Tuesday instead of Friday but Renee and I were the only two who turned up, we discussed both of our projects - although unfortunately we both did VCD so were very clued up about it.

The rest of the group have agreed to pass on any further info they have about their projects into our group so I can continue to be in the loop with the exchange and get the most out of this.
